Leonida & Vice City

A fictional Florida-inspired state built around Rockstar's version of Miami.

Leonida

Leonida is the fictional state confirmed as the setting for Grand Theft Auto VI. Its name and geography draw inspiration from Florida, giving Rockstar a canvas of coastline, wetlands and sprawl to build the game's world around — a spiritual return to the state that inspired the original Vice City games.

Vice City

At the heart of Leonida is Vice City, Rockstar's long-running stand-in for Miami. First introduced in 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the city returns as the centerpiece of GTA VI, reimagined for a new generation with the neon, heat and glamour the series' Florida setting is known for.

Why Florida?

Florida has been part of GTA's DNA since Vice City's debut, and it's a natural fit for the series' blend of crime fiction and satire: sun-soaked excess, tourist culture, and a coastline built for cars, boats and everything in between.
